The Proof Is In The Data

I am continually astonished by the casual approach that I see aesthetic business owners make towards their business reviews. It seems to be a common thought that clients are going to “feel how they feel” when it comes to their business, and there is nothing they can do about it.

Well, it’s time for us to chat. Whether you think that or not, you need to pay attention to this information.

88% of clients trust online reviews as much as personal recommendations.*

Studies consistently show that positive reviews are helpful for your business. Everything that you do in business should be purposeful and intentional, leaving the reputation of your business to chance is INSANE. Negative reviews can impact your revenue by 5-8%.** It’s time to develop your plan for getting rave reviews quickly and consistently.

The first thing I want you to keep in mind when it comes to reviews is making them simple for clients to leave. By the time a client navigates a complicated review system, their momentum to leave the review has vanished.

Secondly, ask your clients to leave reviews where it’s going to have the biggest impact on your business. I encourage paying the most attention to gathering reviews on your website, Facebook, RealSelf, and Google.

When raving clients are checking out, ask them personally if they are willing to leave a review. You can have a tablet for them to use right at the front desk! Of course I highly recommend sending a personalized email (with links) the evening or day after their appointment asking for their feedback and a review.

Reviews can have a huge impact on your practice. You must develop a positive online reputation for your business, and that includes amazing 5-star reviews. But, don’t get too caught up on the occasional lower review score. These reviews make your business seem more credible and provide you with important feedback.
