The holiday season is upon us. That means people will be busy shopping and otherwise preparing for the gatherings of family and friends. As the owner of an Aesthetic Practice or MedSpa, you need to be ready for anything and everything this season throws at you. Here is some great advice that will help get you through the holiday season while shining like the tinsel on a tree.

1. Have a Pre-Holiday Team Meeting

Call your staff together for a meeting before the holiday rush hits. Use this time to go over your holiday promotions and review your operations expectations so every clients’ needs can be filled easily and efficiently. Stress the importance of regular attendance and working as a team. When one person slacks off, everyone suffers. Also, encourage all of your staff members to practice healthy habits at this time of year. Explain the importance of eating right, sleeping well, taking deep, cleansing breaths to reduce stress, and taking breaks as necessary.

2. Get Prepared

You will likely see an uptick in business during the holiday season. Be prepared by having plenty of gift cards and gift bags ready to use. Also, make sure you have enough menus and brochures so you can pass them out to customers and anyone else who comes through the door. Lastly, check your retail shelves to make sure they are fully stocked. Take stock of what you have now, so you can place an order for anything you need before the holiday shoppers start coming in droves.

3. Breate an Atmosphere of Holiday Cheer

No matter which holiday your staff members celebrate, they all need to be shown an ample amount of holiday cheer, especially when they have to be at work during the holiday season. Do something special to put your staff members in a celebratory mood. A great idea that does not require a lot of effort is catering in food like lunch or a healthy snack. You can even bring in treats for the break room. Everyone loves food, so if you do not want to bring in lunch, plan a holiday dinner for after your MedSpa is closed, so everyone can attend. If you cannot take everyone out for dinner, consider after-work drinks instead.

Beyond an off-hours get-together, consider doing a gift exchange among your staff. Often, simply buying gifts for others can put people in the holiday spirit. Also, strive to be the perfect model of holiday cheer when you are around your staff. As the leader of your business, it is your responsibility to set the tone for the season. Post-holiday-inspired motivational quotes around your facility. You can send them via email to your entire staff. Try to infuse some fun into the workday, too. Every few days during this season, do something to remind your staff about the joy and happiness this season brings.

4. Have a World-Class Mindset

Remind your staff that it is crucial to make every customer feel extra-special. Patience, kindness, and empathy are all characteristics your staff should exhibit every hour of every day they are working. Remind your team that this time of year can be stressful for a multitude of reasons.

Many people are lonely. For others, the holiday season brings up sad memories. Other people have a hard time dealing with the stress of the additional responsibilities that the holidays bring. So, there is a good chance your staff members will encounter crabby and cantankerous customers. It is their duty to rise above and treat even the surliest clients with the utmost kindness and respect. Impress upon your staff that they may represent the only kindness and compassion a client sees all day or even all holiday season.

5. Give Back as a Team

Never let yourself or your team forget that this season is all about giving and not getting. Get into the holiday spirit together by being charitable together. Find a way to give back to the community you serve. Donate time or goods to a food pantry in the neighborhood or adopt a local family in need. Giving back to the community as a team will bring your staff closer together as the new year approaches. The holidays are a busy time for everyone. But, if you start now, you can have your Aesthetic Practice or MedSpa ready. If you take action now, it will pay dividends for you both monetarily and by keeping your team happy and intact as the calendar turns.
